Your privacy matters. This policy explains how MakerCircle ("we") processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Purpose and legal basis
We process personal data to operate the Platform, create matches, manage communication and support your participation.
The legal basis is your explicit consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and where relevant Article 9(2)(a).
Consent is required for us to provide the service.
3. Categories of data we process
We primarily process general personal data such as:
- name
- age or date of birth
- contact details
- area or location
- interests, availability and profile information
- match history and communication preferences
We may process sensitive personal data only if you choose to provide it and only when necessary for safe or appropriate matching.
If you give separate consent, we may also process photos or videos that include you.
4. Data sources and who receives your data
Most data comes directly from you.
To run the service, we share necessary information with your match (for example your name, phone number and email).
We may also share data with trusted third-party service providers such as hosting, communication or analytics services under valid data processing agreements.
We do not sell personal data.
5. Storage period
We store your personal data for as long as you remain an active participant.
We aim to delete or anonymise your data within twelve months after you leave the service unless a longer period is required by law or for documentation purposes.
6. Withdrawal of consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any prior processing.
Without consent, we may not be able to provide the service.
If you have consented to the use of photos or videos, you may withdraw that part independently.
7. Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- access your personal data
- have inaccurate data corrected
- request deletion in specific circumstances
- request restriction of processing
- object in specific cases
- request data portability
