We met through work in tech, spending our days solving problems through digital products. We enjoyed it, but outside of work we kept coming back to the same feeling. A growing distance from making things with our hands. From learning something real, physical, imperfect and human.
We both wanted to learn real hands-on skills. Not from videos. Not from fun one-off experiences. But properly. Slowly. From people who have spent years mastering what they do.
The more we talked about it, the more we met others who felt the same. And we started talking to the people who quietly carry a lifetime of knowledge. Retired carpenters. Home cooks. Gardeners. Tailors. Builders. Artists. Full of experience, with fewer places to pass it on.
At the same time, the world felt like it was pulling further apart. More AI. More loneliness. More noise. More division. We did not want to create another app that kept people behind glass. We wanted to build something that pulled people back into real rooms, real conversations and real learning.
And that became . A place to connect those who carry skills with those who seek them. Across generations. Across backgrounds. In real life.makercircle. A place to connect those who carry skills with those who seek them. Across generations. Across backgrounds. In real life.
If this idea resonates, if you have skills to share, skills you want to learn or thoughts on what this could become, we would love to hear from you. We are building this as we go, together with the people who believe in it.
